Help protect the vulnerable by learning how to identify modern trafficking when you see it.
Studies have shown that sex trafficking triples in every city hosting a Games as organised crime moves in and sells men, women and children for profit. Australia is not exempt from this statistic.
Police have reported a major increase in illegal brothels on the Gold Coast in the past eighteen months in preparation for the Commonwealth Games. There are a number of local organisations that are combining resources on the Gold Coast to combat the increase of modern slavery related to the upcoming Commonwealth Games and to work towards legacy initiatives benefiting the region and the community after the Games.
