THE ‘#TAKEAMATE’ GAMES

MAKE THE GOLD COAST COMMONWEALTH GAMES THE #TAKEAMATE GAMES

Sporting events like the 2018 Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast are a once in a lifetime experience for many and literally life-changing and inspirational for some.

That’s why community radio station Juice107.3 is encouraging locals to #TAKEAMATE who might otherwise not be able to get there.

“With the countdown on to Commonwealth Games ticket requests opening, it’s a simple opportunity to gift the seat beside you to a deserving friend”, says Juice CEO Hayden Whitworth.

“It’s a unique chance to perhaps inspire a youngster to follow their dreams or give someone who might have been going through a tough time the sheer joy of being part of the crowd at one of the most exciting sporting events on the calendar,” he said, “for young people, in particular, It could life-changing.”

“Australians, and Gold Coasters, in particular, are a generous bunch who love ‘out of the box’ ways to make a difference”, he said.

“What better way to show that spirit than by taking someone along to share your favourite sporting event with you?” he asked.

The radio station is encouraging people to join the #TAKEAMATE campaign by including someone else in their ticket order on April 24 and spur others on social media to do the same under the #TAKEAMATE hashtag.

“Let’s make the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games the ‘TAKEAMATE’ Games,” said Mr Whitworth.
