If you have paper chains to send in, please mail to ATT: Prayer Chain, PO Box 1309, Elanora Qld 4221

This world record attempt is a once in a lifetime opportunity to link with other people of faith and forever be remembered as a people united in prayer.

This is a youth-led movement, which began on the Gold Coast and is based on the simple belief that there is power in prayer. This is why we pray with our spouse, family, relatives, Church and across denominations. We’ve also seen in our own country as well as around the world (Azusa Now, Lou Engle) , the power of agreeing in prayer with across an entire nation appeal to God for healing, change, unity, freedom or blessing.

Imagine praying with other believers from all over the world – from throughout the 52 nations in the Commonwealth. Uniting through prayer, across denominational and institutional lines, with millions of other people. Pastors, fathers, mothers, youth workers, radio personalities, athletes, businessmen, actors, politicians – all united in a single and massive prayer movement.

This is the fuel behind the “World’s Longest Prayer Chain” record attempt, which will be taking place from April 4th – 15th 2018.

We’re asking team leaders to champion this cause with their local church or community group and assemble a team of willing volunteers. Our goal is to beat the existing record of 160km’s and achieve at least 177km’s of prayer chain.

How Does It Work?

→  Youth groups and churches will start building prayer chains in their local churches and at their youth events and bring them along to the Commonwealth Games, to be linked together as one.

→  We have also joined forces with YWAM, to help us canvas the Games venues, offering all who attend an opportunity to write a short prayer on a paper wristband, attach it in a circular fashion with others who have done the same. Prayers will then be chain-linked with thousands (and eventually millions) of others in a sign of solidarity through faith.

→  Throughout the Games teams will be placed at various high-traffic venues, equipped with branded “World’s Longest Prayer Chain” Tee Shirts, blank Tyvek wristbands and pens with which to write brief prayers. As members gain written prayers on new bands, they will return them to their team leader, who will connect them with the larger local chain. This local chain will eventually be connected to the one main, central chain.

→  But it’s not over after the Games! After the massive chain is assembled and measured for the Guinness Book of World Records, it will be stretched out in all it’s glory on the beaches of Surfer’s Paradise, supported by pastors and people of faith from the Gold Coast. It will then move on to be displayed (in part) in a local art gallery. Following that it will be cut up and sent to participating churches for focussed prayer and to be displayed on their wall.
